By having fun and enjoying yourself you will form physical neurological connections that will, over time, change your mind set. At least that is the idea. :D Good luck.

answer: *~Sandra V~* time: 2010-07-17 23:10:29This is a really good question that most if not all of us face at one time or another in life - how do we let go of the past, how do we not let us affect us and go on to make a new start? First give yourself some time - as the old saying goes "Time heals all" but while this is happening there are some things you can do to help the healing process:Counseling: Have you sought out someone to talk your feeling over concerning what has happened to you? It is amazing what happens when you share the hurt, instead of keeping it inside. The counselor can help you shed new light on the issue, help you to see it a different way and to go on.Watch you thoughts: your counselor can help you with this. Make it a habit to be positive, it is easier then you think and it only takes 21 days to start a new habit. During a tough time in my life I had to do begin to watch my thinking and stop the negative "I can't do it", "I am not good enough" and so on. It takes some will power but once you get the hang of it will last you your whole life. There is a great book out there: "Dreams to Destiny" which you might take a look at. It has to do with affirmations and re-programming our minds, get tips on how to do this and it works! Train your mind to think in a positive manner - school will go well, I will make new friends, I will do well in my classes, I am happy at my new school and so on. Write these down and keep saying them.Bach Flower Remedies: These are amazing! The "Rescue Remedy" which is a mixture of the remedies can help with stress. Specifically "Cherry Plum" will help you let go of the past. 'Minulus" will help with the fear, "Vervain" with the fixed idea that doesn't seem to shift, "Vine" for hurt feelings and "Agrimony" for frustrated ambitions. A really good one is "White Chestnut" for thoughts that go over and over. "Cerato" is for confidence. Alternative health practitioners know of these remedies if you need more guidance. Sorry as I don't know if the spelling is correct for these remedies. Look online for them as there is a lot of info on them. You can find them at any good health food store. They have been around since the 1920's and they really work. Exercise: make sure you get enough, just walking will help increase a good mood.Food: stay away from sugar of all kinds including corn, fruit and so on, alcohol, processed foods, eat really well and lastly watch the coffee as this can make you nervous. Hobbies and doing something you enjoy: take time to have some fun and do something creative through a hobby, it will enrich you life and help you make friends.Vitamins: make sure you get enough vitamin C as this will support your adrenals, when under stress they can use the added C. Also add a good B vitamin complex supplement. You might even get a complete checkup to see how your body is doing. Make sure they check your thyroid as under stress it may get low. If low thyroid runs in your family have your doctor check it for sure. Considering the stress you have been under this hormone will protect you and give you some resistance to life's ups and downs. Lack of concentration and so on is a symptom of low thyroid. Read about this condition online for the problems it can cause if not treated. Pets: animals can really help with stress. A dog can show you unconditional love and companionship. Laugh daily, find something really funny to laugh at.Spirituality: If you believe in God start praying. Start reading positive uplifting books. One great book I really got a lot of is "The four agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. Most of life's lessons are pretty simple and this book is a great guide for finding peace of mind. Someone once told me that what you put in front your face to write and watch will influence your whole day. It is really true. Join a church if you don't have one already. If you don''t like church you might try a service group or volunteer. Once you take the "focus off yourself to help another the miracles start to happen for the greater good of all". It is amazing what happens when you help someone else. As a friend of mine says "I feel whole when I help others". Hope this helps and good luck in all you do, don't give up. you are learning a very valuable lesson which will support you through the rest of your life. Believe in yourself. I can tell you have a lot to offer and can go very far in life. Take care
