Uninsured emergency room visit. Cannot pay. What are my options?
Hi All,
This January I had a snowboard accident and I had travelers insurance at the time. I managed to hit my head hard enough that despite my protests, I was taken to the emergency room. After tests and monitoring, I was discharged. My travel insurance is refusing to pay now due to the fact that I had a .074 BAC in the hospital, and the hospital is charging me $40,000 total for services (I am not kidding about this). So my question are:
1. Can the hospital affect my credit if I refuse to pay?
2. Can I sue the travel insurance company to pay?
