Pocket of fluid (novocaine) in my cheek?
I went to the dentist this morning to get a post put into a tooth that recently had a root canal. The gum was still a bit sensitive so the dentist decided to use novocaine to numb my mouth. He used half a shot waited a minute and then used the other half. I thought things were going well bc my face had started to numb. Then I tough my cheek pad (the fatty spot to the right of my nostril and it was hard and huge (size of a silver dollar). It felt like I had a pocket of fluid in my face. I point this out to him and he's like "oh that happens sometimes". WHAT?! I've had plenty of shots of novocaine from other dentists and I've NEVER had this happen to my face! Then he says it'll be gone in no more then 24hrs. Of course I start to flip out about it and his story changes to, it'll be gone in about 2 hours. We'll it's been 2 hours and I still have what feels like "fluid" in my cheek. I've been rubbing it out hoping to dissipate the fluid but all it's doing is spreading the numbness to my eye and the other side of my face. I don't know what to do!

Hey. Its prob NOT a good idea to wear it when it has snapped....Although they will charge you to get a new one so totally up to you, if it doesnt affect the main teeth where you want it to stay straight dont worry about it other wise just email them and ask how much for a replacement :)
