*LADIES*lumps in my boobs?? help?

okay, i'm 15 and i know you are probably like "they are just growing" which i'd honestly be happy to hear right now. i've had these big, hard lumps in my boobs like under my nipple (but bigger than my nipple) since i was in 5th grade. i started developing or "budding" in 4th grade. i told my mom when i was in 5th grade, went to a doctor, and he said that it's some weird thing (forgot the name) that's common and even boys get it too? he said it could go away or not.
soo, it hasn't. and my boobs hurt all the time when i lay down on my stomach, if anything accidentally hits them, etc. it doesn't change with my period. i know i might sound stupid and it's probably just breast tissue but i've been reading and i really want to make sure it's not anything serious like breast cancer? i know i'm young, but could it still be a possibility?
i am NOT sexually active, if that has anything to do with it.
