Open Question
Is there an "OCD related reason" why this person is advising this to parents of children with OCD?
This article states: "It is also important to not let OCD be the "boss" of the house and regular family activities." This is from: http://kidshealth.org/parent/emotions/behavior/OCD.html#a_Treating%20OCD

Speaking as a doctor who treats ADHD, and as a mother who treats ADHD, I was in the same boat at you. This program really helped turn my son around: http://www.add-treatment.com/total-focus…
answer: wondermom time: 1970-01-09 02:00:13i have had add for over 40 years and i do remember what it was like being in school no one knew what it was back then but it was alot like what you described i quit school and went to one that was self paced and in 6 months i was in college i was just turning 18 in my second year of college and then there were no meds to take. my point is it may be his learning enviroment its not all about meds and thereopists . i was terrible and slow in math many years after when meds were available until i went back and remembered how i learned in a self paced enviroment in my silent cubicle with no distraction or time limit and i started to get it again without meds. hope this helps if not there are tons of adhd groups out there.

Maybe you can talk to other parents at your son's school who are dealing with same problems. I hate those kinds of teachers that shove medication done their throats. I'm sure there are many websites that can give you more information on how to deal with this. Eventually he will make progress!
