the pain is 10 times worse then you bitting off your finger and poking out your eyes with it

Getting your braces tightened does not hurt nearly as bad as when ur first get them on it is a little sore for a little bit dont worry about it.

Not really, it just makes your gums a little sore.. BUT if they put bends in the wire.. then yes.. it could be a bit uncomfortable (sharp pains)

my granddaughter is 10 and has braces she has some sore teeth for a few days but never really complains We give her iorprofine for the first two days then she is ok so don't worry you will do fine. Just tell yourself that thousands of people have braces and live and now have beautiful teeth. Around last Christmas she has to have her front top gums cut off and she did real good with that. She looks so good now . We are waiting for the second phase of braces in the future when all of her big teeth come in to bet the braces on them. Her chin has come forward and her side view has improved so much and after the shin was cut off she has some beautiful front teeth now.

no but it might ache a bit. depends on your teeth, but it wont KILL or REALLY hurt.

It doesn't hurt really bad. Your teeth will be sore and you won't want to chew anything really hard. I suggest eating soft foods like mashed potatoes, fruit smoothies, etc. You'll also want to take some pain killers like motrin. From my own experience they just change the wire (use a different gauge of wire, bend it to move your teeth a certain way). It's not too bad. Once you've gotten past the first time you'll know which foods to avoid and what pain killers work for you. Your teeth will be sore for a few days so don't get any ideas about biting into an apple ;)

I had braces about a year ago. I remember everything. Getting your braces tightened does not hurt at all. Although, it will be very sore. So take some Tylenol or something to help ease the pain. Good luck. Don't worry, it's not bad at all.
