well having your period and wearing a diaper are two different things. its something she needs to know about. just come out with it. say "mom i had my period" you dont even need to mention you found it out while you wore a diaper

Let me tell you my story

I was not knowing what the periods are but before getting them first time my friend has came to my house i don't know what happened my mom call her and ask her do you have periods { she has spoken slow but i listen that} then my friend go somewhere and come after 10 min I haven't ask her anything because i thought this is big one thing and after 2 months when i go in the rest room i saw blood I was confused what has happen to me but then i remember the incident then i thought these are periods but i was scare to tell my mom about this so what i did i just bath i thought it would stop but that don't happen so my skirt was dirty because of leak then what i have done i just go to my mom's room she was alone and i start roaming in the front of her and start asking her about the food when i was roaming she saw my skirt and told me i am having my periods and tell me everything about them and buy me some supplies.

so i think you can also just walk around her so she can see you because you are afraid to speak.

Just curious as to how you got hold of an adult sized "nappy" to fit you? Was it just lying around the house? Why would you wear a nappy, just go to the bathroom like everyone else with diarrhoea does.

Just say "mom - I've got my period can you buy me some pads" that is what most other kids do.

Sweetheart, Im 17 and I started my period when I was 10 years old(I know your thinking wowww that early) but anyways. I was afraid to tell my mother when I had my first period. One morning when I woke up to use the restroom I saw blood in my panties I started crying because I didnt know why I was bleeding(didnt know anything about a period than). So I wiped myself and more and more blood came out my vagina. So after I got out the bathroom I went to my mother crying she was like; whats wrong baby? I was like mom my vagina is bleeding bad she started screaming: "oh lord my baby" started her period. I asked her mom whats a period? She took me by the hand, sat me down, and told me all about a period. Afterwards, she took me to the store to by some pads and she explained to me how to use them and ever since then I felt comfortable having periods. So I say to you just find the right time to tell her. Wait until shes not angry anymore then when she all happy and joyful go up to her and tell her. Good Luck. Hope my story helped you a bit:)
