It definitely depends. I am seriously hoping you are contemplating committing suicide. Report this teacher. If this teacher is making you feel this way then something seriously needs to be done about it. Tell someone you trust. Anyone will listen. Especially a school staff because they don't want to see one of their students killling themselves. Also, if it was bullying and someone committed suicide then the bulliers could face criminal charges if it was proven that they were one of the reasons the student commited suicide. Like the Phoebe Prince trial. Suicide seems like the easier option sometimes but really you don't want to do it. If it's a friend you are talking about then maybe you should share this page with them. This teachers needs to face some trouble. I don't know what he's doing but it's obviously making you or someone you know very upset and that can't carry on. Plus don't commit suicide. That isn't going to stop him unless someone else already knows about what he has done. Everything wil be okay. Sometimes speaking up is really scary but in the end it's totally worth it kiddo.

If there was evidence that the teacher acted inappropriately, there would be an inquiry and the teacher may be dismissed and possibly face criminal charges depending on what it is they supposedly did.2). At my highschool, when a student died (by suicide or in some other way) grief counselors were called in and made available to talk to students. Of course the kids who mostly went to talk to them weren't even friends with the person who died, and were just using it as an excuse to get out of class (but that's just my experience, mileage may vary).3). It's hard to say what a policy may be. It likely varies from school district to school district, or even from school to school within a district. Some places that haven't experienced such a tragedy before may not even have a set policy in place.

The school then cracked down and started having more convocations about how suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. The counselors were open to everyone who needed them and I feel like that helped. The teacher would probably be put under investigation if the student talked to a counselor about what was going on and how they felt about the teacher's actions. If the student did commit suicide and it was known that the student had taken their own life with reasons that pertained to the teacher, an investigation would occur.
