Getting perscription refill after Wisdom Teeth Extracted?

Yesterday my wisdom teeth were removed, but the thing is, the day before I was prescribed vicodin because of inhuman amounts of pain one of them were creating by putting pressure on my other teeth. I was nearly in tears and felt awful. The oral surgeon perscribed 15 vicodin ES, and the surgery was put off until the next morning because I really, really wanted to be sedated for it (say what you will)... anyway, I got the extraction done, and it went well, but today, the day after surgery, my teeth still hurt badly and I am out of vicodin. I understand that is a short period to run out of that many, but I was in horrendous amounts of pain from the initial discomfort (I went from having no plans to get them extracted to having them extracted a day after plans were made, to give you some idea), and perhaps I did go overboard. I called back the next day and I got the operator, who said the doctor was off and she'd make sure he called me back. He never called me back, so two hours or so later I called again and was put on the phone with a nurse. She seemed to get very defensive and told me to just take motrin - which I had started doing anyway - and gave me a real attitude. I don't blame her, I know that these things can get out of hand very quickly, but at the same time, I have no history of abuse and real pain. Heck, I'd be willing to take a smaller amount and see how I feel when it's gone, but I need the other side of my mouth operated on for wisdom teeth removal and I don't want them to get the wrong idea so I said I'd call later if it still hurt. I'm afraid if I do though, they'll redflag me and if my next extraction leaves me in severe pain I'll be screwed. Other than this incident I like how things went and want to go to this same doctor again. On the other hand, I hate feeling like a criminal. What should I do?
