I've known many people who state Prozac dampens their sexual drive, but no one has stated any problems with creativity. Perhaps your seratonin levels (which Prozac regulates) have recovered to the extent where you now need an adjustment in your dosage. You should talk to the doctor that prescribed the drug and ask if an downward adjustment in the Prozac would help. If it doesn't help, ask for a different medication - there are many out there and surely one that would allow your creativity to blossom again. Best that you return to the medical professional that has been prescribing your medication, as he/she knows you well. i've never thought about this until i saw your question. a few years ago, i really loved listening to music, going to festivals etc. the first thing i did in the morning was knock the radio on or spend my time watching music channels. also i would get in to good dramas that were on tv. i would spend my money on cd's, music magazines etc. but when i look back, since i've been on Prozac, i've lost all interest in it. i just put it down to the music, now, being bad! in fact i've lost interest in socialising, and going out too. but i think it could be the Prozac, now you have mentioned it. i remember a time when i stopped taking them for a while, and i got back into music and other things again, but i went back on them and i'm not interested again. you have made me think! i'm going to start cutting down and see what happens.

Prozac will definetly kill your creativity after pro-longed use. All ssri's will have a dampening effect on your creativity and make you dull thats just how they work. Its a price to pay to not feel depressed. I dont know if any other meds will not do the same. If the prozac is working for you then you should put up with this loss of creativity. You could look at adding wellbutrin to the prozac. I was on that combo before and the wellbutrin helped alot with the loss of creativity and libido as well. But be cautious if you have bad anxiety the wellbutrin can make it alot worse.
