Your natural calorie burning rate (calories burnt to keep you breathing, blood pumping etc) will slow due to lack of energy (ie food) and your body will fight to keep its fat stores because it thinks it is threatened with starvation. Any weight you do lose will most likely come from your lean muscle which is definitely NOT what you want. The human body is an unruly little guy sometimes.
You have to sort of "trick" your body into burning fat. Situps will not melt your stomach away.Try for an hour a day of hard cardio like biking. It will do wonders for burnign fat. Try biking for an hour. You can burn upwards of 900 calories just for that hour.
General rules:
Eat breakfast, preferably something healthy but a bowl of cereal with skim milk is okay, even if its sugary cereal. just make sure you arent going overboard.
Keep track of your calories, you want to have eaten less than you burned. A daily calorie deficit of 500 to 1000 will be the most beneficial to burning belly fat.
More protein and fiber will make you feel fuller as well as your 8 glasses of water a day. Water will also do wonders.
Try investing in a good protein shake or mix. It will help you feel full and give your lean muscle the protein it needs to build after your hour of cardio.
You can eat junk food as long as your number of calories consumed stays below your number of calories burnt. Keep in mind though that junk food will rarely make you feel full and, as such, will likely lead to you consuming more calories than you burn.
EXERCISE! If you can't bike just yet, try walking. But I couldn't recommend biking more, its a calorie blaster.
Good luck. I lost 35+ pounds in 4 months using this plan.
Focus on a healthy life-style. Eat balanced meals that include lean meats and veggies and whole grains and eat several small meals as opposed to 3 big ones to avoid getting overly hungry and binge eating. For weight-loss the most effective exercise is aerobic - like running or swimming. Crunches and weights will help tone but not help with weight-loss. If you concentrate on healthy eating and exercise the weight will come off and hopefully you will feel so good you will want to stick with the regimen.
P.S. 600 is tooo small! Best of luck :)
No Dont starve yourself and crunche's are more effective than situps and jus take it slow dont try to rush and loose alot of weight real fast and when you run wear a jogging suit even it's about 85 degree's outside but be carefull you dont exausht yourself and drink about 24ounces of water before you run abut 30minutes ahead and drink water when your done running and jus eating Fruit isnt really healthy make sure you get your protein fiber etc.. etc and Iron and Fiber and and all the vitaimains is the key to weight lose. Hope this helps :)

answer: Lidiya. time: 2011-05-26 06:09:57600 calories will hardly get you through the day, the average person uses a lot more than that in a day just to sit down. Also, fruit is high in sugar, a weightloss diet doesn't normally consist of a lot of fruit. although its nutritious, the high amount of sugars in it aren't going to help you lose weight if you eat a lot of it.
answer: Nate time: 2011-05-24 20:09:43If you are going to successfully lose weight you are going to need an intake of approximately 1500 calories a day, split up in to 4-5 small meals. Consuming only 600 calories a day will throw your body into "starvation mode" and cause your metabolism to slow down considerably. In other words, activities in the past that burned 200 calories will now take only 130 calories to burn, which translates into more weight/less calories. You are definitely above IBW by 115 lbs. Lowering the rate you burn calories is the last thing you want. Eat only Meats, vegetables, fruit, cheese. Drink 1% milk, 6-8 glasses of water everyday, if you don't like water that much, put it in the fanciest glass you can find and make sure it's ICE COLD. No pastas, potatoes, bread, ice cream, candy, pies, sugar-loaded drinks. Cardio-30 minutes everyday on a treadmill, walking briskly in place, elliptical machine, along with the other exercises you mentioned. Do it right and it will get done. No short cuts, they only lead to disappointment and failure. It took a while to get this way, it's going to take a awhile to lose it. Don't give up and you WILL.
answer: Razorsharp time: 2011-05-16 03:10:02Your body will go into starvation mode and actually hold onto the fat for dear life. Google up what your BMR is. That is the calories that you need in order for your body to just function and stay alive. You should also find your resting heart rate. Google up a calculator that shows you how high your heart rate needs to be in order for you to lose weight. Remember, just because you're sweating during a work out does not mean you are burning fat! It is your heart rate that determines how many calories you're burning!
I would say you should aim for 1,500 calories a day full of rich, healthy foods. Try to eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, and nuts with a variety of colors. With your meat, try to eat white meat that is lean. Like fish and chicken. And avoid frying it because that adds a lot of fat and calories. Only eat red meat on occasion. Also, begin to take a multivitamin so the body gets everything it needs. When the body is in balance, it will start to shed the pounds more efficiently.
Keep a food diary, too. Track all calories and be HONEST. Know how much you are eating so you can keep on track. That way, you won't fall off and start reverting to old eating habits.
Exercise and a good diet plan is very, very important if you want to lose the weight. It takes time and determination, but it's a goal that is well worth the hard work.
And remember, have fun. You're bettering yourself. Just be safe and don't expect too much or you might get discouraged. :)
Oh! There is also a lovely workout site I go to for free videos. It's nice to do when you need a quick workout, but don't really know what to do. They also have exercise plans monthly to help you.
